Julie Krugman Studio is only accepting students who are interested in pursuing a college degrees in Music, Musical Theater, Theater Arts & Theater. I will work with High School Juniors and Seniors to help them with the college pre-screen and audition process. Thank you for your interest!
Each lesson is given in a professional, supportive, and creative environment. My approach to voice lessons promotes clear awareness of the body in connection to the voice. Students (ages 13 and up) gain a strong foundation in musical and vocal techniques. Each lesson is customized to the individual student's ability and progress.
My Background Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University and Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University. Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). I have over 15 years of professional experience teaching and singing in all styles, including classical, musical theater, jazz, and pop.
Lesson Expectations Lessons are given weekly at a regular day and time. Depending on the student's level, lessons can be scheduled for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or one hour.
Lessons will cover all or part of the following information:
Basic music fundamentals - reading music, note values, and sight reading
Technical vocal work to improve the student's vocal quality and health
Musicality to help the student understand the dynamics and interpretation of music
Artistic development for the student to understand how the history of music can benefit the musical and artistic growth of a singer
